Joe Twohig, Past Intern

Joe Twohig is a talented and driven pre-doctoral intern at The Wobbly Tooth Dental Practice, bringing with him a wealth of research experience, academic excellence, and a deep passion for dentistry and biomedical science. Joe will be attending Columbia University College of Dental Medicine as part of the incoming Class of 2025, and currently serves as an intern at The Wobbly Tooth while completing his final research commitments at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

A graduate of Northwestern University with a Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences, Joe has contributed to cutting-edge research at both the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR) and the National Cancer Institute (NCI). His work spans multiomic profiling of autoimmune diseases, patient-derived xenograft modeling in prostate cancer, and the development of AI-assisted diagnostic tools. He has presented his research at national symposia and is a co-author on multiple peer-reviewed publications.

At The Wobbly Tooth, Joe brings his intellectual curiosity, professionalism, and patient-focused mindset to the clinical setting. He is passionate about making connections with patients, learning from experienced dental professionals, and applying his scientific background to real-world dental care.

Outside of the clinic, Joe enjoys mentoring students, exploring the outdoors, and staying active. His long-term goal is to bridge clinical excellence with research innovation—and we are proud to support him on his journey to becoming a future leader in dentistry.

Rachel Kulchar, Past Intern

Dental Student at UCLA

Rachel Kulchar is a DDS/PhD candidate at the UCLA School of Dentistry, currently interning at The Wobbly Tooth Dental Practice, where she brings her passion for science, service, and innovation to the chairside experience. With a background in chemistry and global health from Princeton University and an impressive research portfolio spanning oral biology, salivary gland pathology, and cancer therapeutics, Rachel is dedicated to bridging clinical care and cutting-edge research in dentistry.

Rachel has conducted research at top institutions including the National Institutes of Health (NIH), University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, and UCLA School of Medicine, with more than 25 peer-reviewed publications and numerous national and international presentations to her name. Her work has focused on salivary gland dysfunction, oral biomarkers, fluoride therapy, and equitable access to oral healthcare, and she has received prestigious awards from the AACR, AADOCR, and UCLA School of Dentistry, including the Dean’s Scholarship.

As an intern at The Wobbly Tooth, Rachel brings not only technical knowledge and research acumen but also a deep commitment to patient-centered care, equity in health access, and mentorship. Her interdisciplinary approach and passion for improving outcomes through both science and service make her an inspiring addition to the team.

In and out of the clinic, Rachel remains a strong advocate for diversity in STEM, global oral health, and supporting future leaders in healthcare. She is excited to continue learning from the dedicated team at The Wobbly Tooth as she prepares for a career as a dentist-scientist and changemaker in the field.

Hope Robinson

Patient Care Coordinator

Hope Robinson, BS, is a dedicated Patient Care Coordinator at The Wobbly Tooth Dental Practice, bringing a strong foundation in public health, patient advocacy, and administrative efficiency. With a background in clinical research, mentorship, and community health, she is committed to ensuring a seamless and positive experience for every patient.

Hope is currently completing her Bachelor of Science in Public Health Science at the University of Maryland, College Park, where she maintains a 4.0 GPA and is part of the Scholars Life Sciences Program. Her passion for healthcare was further cultivated during her internship at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Clinical Center, where she conducted observational research on sterile drug compounding and gained valuable experience in clinical operations.

Beyond her academic and research achievements, Hope has a strong history of mentorship and volunteerism. She has served as a mentor and tutor for elementary and middle school students, providing educational support in mathematics, language arts, and social studies. Additionally, her role as Co-Chief Intern at the Tacy Foundation allowed her to lead volunteer training programs and organize music therapy initiatives for hospitals and senior living facilities.

At The Wobbly Tooth Dental Practice, Hope combines her skills in patient communication, organizational management, and healthcare administration to provide exceptional support for both patients and staff. She is passionate about creating a welcoming and efficient environment where patients feel heard, informed, and well cared for throughout their dental journey.

Hope’s compassionate approach, bilingual abilities in Spanish, and commitment to healthcare excellence make her a valuable asset to The Wobbly Tooth team. Hope has been an amazing team member and is leaving us Summer of 2025 to attend the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine! We are so proud of her!

Lovelace Adeniseun

Intern

Lovelace Adeniseun is a dedicated dental intern at The Wobbly Tooth Dental Practice and a current Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) candidate at Howard University College of Dentistry. With a strong foundation in both science and healthcare, Lovelace brings a multidisciplinary background and a passion for patient-centered care to the field of dentistry.

She holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Texas at Arlington and an Associate of Science from Tarrant County College. Prior to entering dental school, Lovelace gained extensive experience in clinical and laboratory settings, having worked in diagnostic and medical laboratories including Everlywell Diagnostics and KAI Medical Laboratory. Her early career also included quality assurance roles at Ventura Foods and clinical assistant work at Maclin Family Medicine.

Her research experience spans both academic and NIH settings, including projects on MTORC3 small molecule binders in head and neck cancer cells, enamel remineralization, and tetravalent dengue vaccine studies. She is the recipient of several notable honors, including the 2022 OWH Research Symposium Award, the 2023 NIH Dental Student Award, and the 2024 NIH Cancer Research Training Award.

Lovelace is actively involved in leadership and advocacy through the American Student Dental Association (ASDA), where she serves as the Wellness Chair, and she has held multiple liaison and secretary roles within Howard University’s clinical and academic programs. She is also a member of the Edward C. Penick Endodontic Study Club, ADEA, and the Student National Dental Association (SNDA).

Driven by a commitment to service, Lovelace has participated in outreach initiatives such as the Howard University College of Dentistry’s Jamaica mission trip and R.A.M. Hildago Texas service project.
